Saudi College Students’ Home Reading Practice Environment

The current study describes the status of Saudi home reading practice environment. A survey was used to identify major factors affecting such as, time spent at home, availability materials and social educational environment (parents’ education, siblings, family, friends). There a positive correlation between practice, speaking about reading, buying books using personal budget, list, age, in another language, outside school curriculums, Saudis daily reading. It common for share speak what they had read. Most readers did not have list but based their choices on recommendations from family members, classmates, or friends. who received as gifts were more likely Teachers, especially ESL teachers, must encourage out work enhance literacy skills.
